The Peter Bowe and Barbara Stewart Foundation supports strengthening civic education and civil dialogue, as well as closing the opportunity gap. The Foundation’s primary focus is increasing understanding and appreciation of American civic heritage, which creates more engaged citizens. The Foundation’s secondary focus is closing the opportunity gap by supporting organizations that emphasize education, training and work experience.

The National Teacher Institute is the flagship teacher training program for the American Battlefield Trust. This program brings K-12 educators, librarians, and museum professionals together. Through lectures, workshops, think tanks, and tours, teachers then take what they have learned back to their classroom.
“Free speech is for everyone, no matter what team you’re on.”That’s the message of FIRE’s short video airing nationwide…The ad features two announcers arguing over a football player’s kneeling protest in order to highlight the importance of free speech during our polarized times.
Together with collaborative partners, including the National Park Service, the ABT has produced maps, apps, curricula, articles and more than 130 videos – most of them about three minutes in length.
