Bowe Stewart Emerging Civic Leader Award
Recently we were honored to participate in the 7th Annual Policy Circle Leadership Summit in Tampa, Florida which highlighted conversations about The Policy Circle's mission, policy, and the progress of its CLER program.
We are thrilled to share the comments we made at the event in presenting the inaugural Bowe Stewart Emerging Civic Leader Award to Amy Brigham. The Summit was attended by over 300 people from around the country, including Bari Weiss as the keynote speaker.

“When The Policy Circle selected the military community for focused outreach, we knew the impact would be significant given that this is a group that fully understands service, sacrifice, and love of country. Amy Brigham is a rising civic star who came to The Policy Circle and CLER through the 2023 Military Outreach Initiative.
She is a graduate of CLER 1.0 and a true unsung hero of the military network as the devoted wife of a military officer. Despite the unique challenges that come with being a military spouse, Amy has emerged even stronger and more resilient. With her daughter now in college, Amy's enthusiasm for service has only grown stronger, and she turned to CLER for guidance on her next act of community service. Her commitment to giving back is so inspiring that she even customized the CLER curriculum to allow her teenage daughter to join in on the course.
Since completing CLER, Amy has been actively involved in her local community and has created new opportunities to serve. She is currently undergoing training to become a poll worker and volunteering at voter registration events for newly naturalized citizens. Additionally, she recently launched a Circle that brings together moms from different schools in her community, fostering meaningful connections and support.
Amy's sincere dedication to making a difference in her community is truly admirable. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm are infectious, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in the future.”
